1. Acceptance of Terms

Welcome to EduMate. By downloading, installing, or using our mobile application and services, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use our services.

EduMate is an AI-powered educational platform designed to help Pakistani students prepare for board examinations (Matric and FSc, grades 9-12). These Terms govern your use of the EduMate mobile application and all related services.

2. Eligibility

To use EduMate, you must:

  • Be at least 13 years of age
  • If under 18, have parental or guardian consent to use the service
  • Have a valid email address for account registration
  • Provide accurate and complete registration information
  • Not be prohibited from using the service under applicable laws

3. Account Registration

When creating an account, you agree to:

  • Provide truthful and accurate information
  • Maintain the security of your account credentials
  • Not share your account with others
  • Notify us immediately of any unauthorized access
  • Accept responsibility for all activities under your account

You may register using email/password or through supported social authentication providers (Google). You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials.

4. Device Limits

To ensure security and prevent account sharing:

  • Free accounts are limited to one (1) active device at a time
  • Logging in on a new device will deactivate previous devices
  • You can manage your devices through the app settings
  • Premium subscriptions may include additional device allowances

5. Service Description

EduMate provides:

  • Structured learning content aligned with Pakistani board syllabi
  • Adaptive quizzes that personalize to your learning needs
  • Flashcards with spaced repetition for effective memorization
  • Practice problems with step-by-step guidance
  • Formula practice and common mistakes challenges
  • Progress tracking and learning analytics
  • AI-powered explanations and content
  • Offline access to downloaded content

The service is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. We continuously work to improve the platform and may modify, suspend, or discontinue features without prior notice.

6. Acceptable Use

You agree NOT to:

  • Share your account credentials with others
  • Use the service for any illegal or unauthorized purpose
  • Attempt to access other users' accounts or data
  • Interfere with or disrupt the service or servers
  • Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the application
  • Copy, distribute, or sell any content from the platform
  • Use automated systems or bots to access the service
  • Circumvent any access restrictions or security measures
  • Submit false information or impersonate others
  • Use the service to harm, harass, or exploit minors

7. Intellectual Property

All content, features, and functionality of EduMate, including but not limited to:

  • Educational content, quizzes, and explanations
  • Software, code, and algorithms
  • User interface and design elements
  • Logos, trademarks, and branding
  • AI-generated content and personalization systems

are the exclusive property of EduMate and are protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works without our express written permission.

8. User Content

When you submit content through support tickets, feedback, or other features:

  • You retain ownership of your original content
  • You grant us a license to use, store, and process your content to provide the service
  • You are responsible for the content you submit
  • You must not submit content that violates others' rights or applicable laws

9. Early Adopter Program & Pricing

9.1 Early Adopter Program

EduMate is currently offered through our Early Adopter Program:

  • During the Early Adopter Program, EduMate is provided completely free of charge
  • Early adopters receive full access to all available features, subjects, and learning tools
  • No credit card or payment information is required to participate
  • The Early Adopter Program may be limited in duration or number of participants

9.2 Future Pricing Changes

Important: The Early Adopter Program is temporary. After the program ends, access to EduMate (including all existing and new features) is subject to change. We reserve the right to:

  • Introduce paid subscription plans for the app
  • Modify, limit, or discontinue free access to any or all features
  • Change pricing, features, and availability at any time
  • Transition the app from free to a paid service

The Early Adopter Program does not guarantee permanent free access. All features currently available for free may require a paid subscription in the future. We will notify users of significant pricing changes through the app or via email before they take effect.

9.3 Future Payment Methods

When premium subscriptions become available, payments will be processed through:

  • Google Play Store (for Android)
  • Apple App Store (for iOS, when available)
  • Local payment methods (JazzCash, EasyPaisa, etc.) where supported

All transactions will be subject to the respective payment provider's terms and conditions. Subscription fees, if applicable, will be billed in advance, and refunds will be subject to app store policies.

10. Disclaimer of Warranties

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING:

  • MERCHANTABILITY or FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE
  • ACCURACY or COMPLETENESS of educational content
  • UNINTERRUPTED or ERROR-FREE operation
  • SECURITY of your data (though we implement reasonable measures)

While we strive for accuracy, EduMate is a supplementary learning tool and should not be the sole source for exam preparation. We recommend using official textbooks and guidance from teachers alongside our platform.

11. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, EDUMATE AND ITS OFFICERS, DIRECTORS, EMPLOYEES, AND AGENTS SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR:

  • Any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages
  • Loss of profits, data, or other intangible losses
  • Exam results or academic performance
  • Unauthorized access to or alteration of your data
  • Any third-party conduct or content

12. Account Termination

We may suspend or terminate your account if you:

  • Violate these Terms of Service
  • Engage in fraudulent or illegal activity
  • Abuse or misuse the platform
  • Fail to pay subscription fees (if applicable)

You may delete your account at any time through the app settings. Account deletion:

  • Requires OTP verification for security
  • Has a 7-day grace period during which you can recover your account
  • After 7 days, all data is permanently deleted

13. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless EduMate, its affiliates, and their respective officers, directors, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, and expenses (including legal fees) arising from your use of the service or violation of these Terms.

14. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Pakistan, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of the service shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts in Pakistan.

15. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. We will notify you of significant changes through the app or via email. Your continued use of EduMate after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the modified Terms. We encourage you to review these Terms periodically.

16. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable or invalid, that provision shall be limited or eliminated to the minimum extent necessary, and the remaining provisions shall remain in full force and effect.

17. Entire Agreement

These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and EduMate regarding the use of our services and supersede any prior agreements or understandings.
